Privacy Policy — GTS Customer Portal
This Privacy Policy explains how the GTS Customer Portal mobile application ("the app"), provided by General Technical Services ("GTS", "we", "us"), handles your information. The app lets GTS calibration and testing customers access their calibration certificates and instrument records.
Information we collect
- Account identifiers. To use the app you sign in with your GTS portal account. Your login identifier and the name and company associated with your account are used to retrieve and display your records.
- Authentication credentials. Your password is entered only to sign in. It is transmitted directly to the GTS portal server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and, if you choose to stay signed in, stored in your device's secure hardware keystore (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). It is never stored in plain text and never sent to any third party.
- Crash and diagnostic data. The app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to collect anonymous crash reports and basic diagnostic information (device model, operating-system version, and the state of the app at the time of a crash) so we can find and fix problems. This data does not identify you personally and is used only to improve app stability.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and display your calibration certificates and instrument records.
- To provide app features such as certificate download, QR/barcode scanning, due-date reminders, and the instrument register.
- To diagnose crashes and improve the reliability of the app.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising. Crash diagnostics are processed by Google (Firebase Crashlytics) solely on our behalf to operate the crash-reporting feature. Your certificate data is served from GTS's own systems.
Data security
All communication between the app and GTS servers uses encrypted HTTPS. Your session token and any saved credentials are held in the device's secure keystore. Cloud backup of the app's data is disabled.
Data retention and deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:
- In the app: open Account → "Delete my account & data", or
- By email to mathews@generaltechuae.com.
We will process verified deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and our records obligations for calibration and certification data.
Children
The app is intended for business use by GTS customers and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
