Brannan 10/602/0 is the BS 734 designation No 1 lactometer for milk of normal density, reading 1.025 to 1.035 SG in fine 0.0002 divisions with ±0.0002 accuracy at 20 °C. It has the larger 26 mm bulb of the series and is calibrated in grams/ml. Floated in a milk sample, it shows specific gravity, which helps dairy staff judge milk density and quality.
