The Crowcon Fgard H2 is a flame detector designed only for hydrogen fires, which are hard to see and are not picked up by conventional multi-spectrum detectors. It can detect a 36-inch hydrogen flame plume at 40 m, typically responding in 2-5 seconds. Heated optics keep ice and condensation off the window, and automatic optical verification checks the lens and electronics.
