The VA 409 is a thermal switch that determines the flow direction of compressed air and gases, especially in closed ring mains. Unlike mechanical paddle switches, it picks up very small direction changes quickly and without moving parts. The direction is passed as a potential-free contact to VA 500/VA 520 consumption sensors or a building management system, and two LEDs show the direction.
