The DeFelsko STDSHIMS is a set of five non-certified precision plastic shims for quick operational checks of electronic coating thickness gauges and for practice measurements over metal. They can also protect the probe on tacky, rough or hot surfaces. DeFelsko inspects them to nominal accuracy, but they are not traceable to a national or international standard.

- 50 µm (2 mil), red: ±10%
- 125 µm (5 mil) blue, 250 µm (10 mil) brown and 500 µm (20 mil) yellow: ±5%
