Product Overview

The Dwyer GSTA-C-D-FC is part of the Series GSTA carbon monoxide transmitters designed to monitor gas concentrations in mechanical rooms, underground parking garages and loading docks. Carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring is intended for applications involving gasoline-engine exhaust.

This duct-mount configuration is supplied with a factory calibration certificate and is designed for in-duct gas monitoring. The Series GSTA provides field-selectable analog outputs including 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 1-5 V and 2-10 V, allowing connection to a wide range of building management and ventilation controllers. The output can also be inverted using internal DIP switches.

For carbon monoxide applications, the measurement range can be selected from 0-50 ppm up to 0-500 ppm. The transmitter uses an industrial-grade, field-replaceable sensor that can be field-calibrated using the A-449 remote LCD service display. The service display also indicates when the sensor reaches the end of its service life and requires replacement.

The GSTA-C-D provides the same core configuration without the factory calibration certificate.

How to Specify & Commission It

  1. Confirm the application requires carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring and select a suitable duct location.
  2. Install the GSTA-C-D-FC according to the manufacturer's installation requirements.
  3. Wire the power supply and selected analog output to the building management or ventilation controller.
  4. Select the required CO measurement range and output configuration.
  5. Configure output inversion through the internal DIP switches if required.
  6. Use the A-449 remote LCD service display for field calibration and verify the transmitter readings.
  7. Monitor the sensor status and replace the field-replaceable sensor when the end-of-life indication is displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What gas does the Dwyer GSTA-C-D-FC detect?
The GSTA-C-D-FC detects carbon monoxide (CO), which is used for monitoring gasoline-engine exhaust.

What measurement range does the GSTA-C-D-FC support?
The carbon monoxide range can be selected from 0-50 ppm up to 0-500 ppm.

What analog outputs are available?
The transmitter supports 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 1-5 V and 2-10 V outputs. The output can also be inverted using internal DIP switches.

Is the GSTA-C-D-FC wall mount or duct mount?
The GSTA-C-D-FC is a duct-mount model designed for in-duct monitoring.

Does the GSTA-C-D-FC have an integral display?
No. The GSTA-C-D-FC does not include an integral LCD. The A-449 remote LCD service display can be used for setup and field calibration.

Can the sensor be replaced in the field?
Yes. The transmitter uses an industrial-grade, field-replaceable sensor.

How is the sensor calibrated?
The sensor can be field-calibrated using the A-449 remote LCD service display. The display also indicates when the sensor needs to be replaced.

What does the -FC suffix mean?
The -FC version is supplied with a factory calibration certificate. The core electrical and mechanical configuration is otherwise the same as the corresponding standard model.

What is the difference between GSTA-C-D-FC and GSTA-C-D?
