Emerson Rx3i Expansion Modules
Local and remote I/O are provided by the Emerson Rx3i Expansion Modules to optimise configurations. Using a local remote expansion module, the RX3i can be expanded up to 8 expansion bases. For more distributed I/O, the RX3i also supports Ethernet remote I/O using the Series 90-30 Ethernet Network Interface module (IC693NIU004) and RX3i Ethernet Network Interface module (IC695NKT001).
A NIU001 with two internal serial ports and an ETM001 are both included in the IC695NKT001 Ethernet Remote I/O Expansion Kit. Three module slots are needed, two for the NIU and one for the Ethernet module. An RJ-45 with an integrated switch is part of the built-in communications. RS-232 and RS-485 ports both. SNP, Serial I/O, Modbus Slave, and Modbus Master are supported.
