The Palmer Wahl TS_Series is a 4.5 in (125 mm) solid front process gauge designed for the safety of personnel reading it. A solid barrier separates the sensing element from the dial front, and if a failure occurs the blow-out back releases pressure, fluid or particles through the rear of the case. The 316 stainless socket is TIG welded to the elastic element for strength.

Glycerin or silicone filled instruments should not be used with highly oxidising agents such as oxygen, chlorine, nitric acid or hydrogen peroxide; Palmer Wahl recommends fluorinated fluid for these media.
