Made from 1095 spring steel, Pi Tape P1 is an inch-graduated outside diameter tape for the 2–12 in band, held to a tolerance of ±0.001 in. Wrapped around a part in the 2–12 in range, the P1 reads the outside diameter directly, so checks stay consistent from one reading to the next. With a starting point of 2 in, the P1 uses the standard 0.010 in (0.25 mm) material thickness.
