Vaisala MMP8 Moisture in Oil Probe
The Vaisala HUMICAP 180L2 sensor, which is designed for moisture in oil applications, is included into the Indigo-compatible MMP8 probe. The probe comes with a traceable calibration certificate that is suggested by CIGRE and can be used to measure the moisture content of a variety of oils, including transformer, hydraulic, and lubricating oils.
The MMP8 probe uses temperature (T), relative saturation (%RS), and water activity (aw) to quantify the amount of dissolved moisture in oil. Additionally, it determines the ppm concentration of particular oils. If analogue outputs, relays, or a display are required, this probe can be used as a stand-alone device with Modbus RTU communication; otherwise, it can be used with Indigo transmitters.
