The Brannan 10/603/0 lactometer is BS 734 designation No 1A, intended for low density milk and covering 1.015 to 1.025 SG. Like the No 1 it uses a 26 mm bulb with 0.0002 divisions and ±0.0002 accuracy at 20 °C, giving fine resolution at the lower end of the milk density scale. It is calibrated in grams/ml, adjusted at 20 °C and made in the UK.
