Brannan's 10/891/0 reads specific gravity between 1.65 and 1.70 on the 60/60 °F scale and is part of the general purpose L50 series. It compares the relative density of a liquid with that of water, so this 1.65–1.70 model is intended for liquids denser than water. Adjusted at 60 °F (15.6 °C), the L50 model 10/891/0 measures 335 mm overall and spans 0.050 SG with 0.0005 SG divisions. Like the other L50 instruments, the 10/891/0 is similar to hydrometers in ISO 650 and in the now superseded 1960 issue of BS 718.
