The Brannan 47/434/0 is the stainless steel version of the 305 mm slot front case, made for standard laboratory thermometers of 6.5 mm diameter. It shields the glass from breakage while the front slot leaves the scale visible. Holes in the bulb end allow the medium to reach the bulb so readings respond quickly, and a ring at the top allows the cased thermometer to be suspended. The case weighs 61 g.
