Palmer Wahl dipstick meter systems measure ferrous and non-ferrous molten metals such as iron, steel, gold, brass, bronze and aluminium, and enclosures including furnaces, stacks and ovens. TC840 models use Type S thermocouples to 3200 °F / 1770 °C with expendable quartz tips; TC850 models use Type K to 2500 °F / 1370 °C for non-ferrous metals with a reusable 10693 chrome tip. Lance length, tip bend and °F or °C scale are chosen by model.

- Lance lengths of 48, 55, 60 or 72 in; straight, 45° or 90° bend

- TC840 supplied with one RTC832 tip; RTC832, RTC832S or RTC832SCL tips fit
- NIST calibration available
